چکیده
The electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to produce sustainable fuels and chemicals is attracting great attention. Cu-based catalysts can lead the production a range different molecules, interestingly product selectivity strongly depends on preparation history, although it not fully understood yet why. We report novel strategy that allowed us prepare Cu nanoparticle carbon with similar morphologies, but prepared by in-situ either supported CuS, Cu2S or CuO nanoparticles. For first time evolution species was followed under H+ conditions using X-ray absorption spectroscopy. Excellent electrochemical contact between nanoparticles, support carbon-paper substrate observed, resulting in metallic as predominant phase typical conditions. Even covering less than 4% H2 producing Cu-sulfide derived nanoparticles steer maximum 12% Faradaic efficiency for formate. Clear differences from were which ascribed presence residual sulfur catalysts.

متن کاملThe Electroreduction of Carbon Dioxide on Porous Copper Nanoparticles
Copper nanoparticles of porous, controlled structure were synthesized using the sacrificial support method (SSM). The precursor weight percent (wt%) of copper (Cu) and fumed silica (EH-5) was varied to determine the optimum ratio for this material. The precursors were reduced at i) 350°C in a 7% H2 atmosphere and ii) at 250°C in a 100% H2 atmosphere. The specific surface areas of the nanopartic...

Abstract: The direct reduction of copper sulfide concentrate from Iranian Sarcheshme deposits with carbon in the presence of lime was investigated in the temperature range of 800-1000 ºC. The reduction kinetics was determined by means of weight loss measurements. It was found that the rate of reaction increased considerably with increasing the temperature. The kinetics was also improved whe...
متن کاملUltrastable atomic copper nanosheets for selective electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide
The electrochemical conversion of CO2 and H2O into syngas using renewably generated electricity is an attractive approach to simultaneously achieve chemical fixation of CO2 and storage of renewable energy. Developing cost-effective catalysts for selective electroreduction of CO2 into CO is essential to the practical applications of the approach. We report a simple synthetic strategy for the pre...
